Weeks after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, as the Israeli military began to destroy Gaza, the cries to dehumanize the Other left no room to express sympathy for the victims on either side.
A group of young Palestinian and Israeli friends and activists felt isolated and afraid. The imposed silence suffocated them. The prevailing fanaticism and the spirit of revenge sweeping the country tore them apart.
They decided to spend some time somewhere in Andalusia so they could process their pain together, far from that land ravaged by hatred. This group of friends is part of a larger binational group that aspires to create the conditions for a truly shared society—a radical peace.
These interviews capture part of the healing process they are undergoing.
Semanas después del ataque de Hamás del 7 de octubre de 2023, mientras el ejército de Israel empezaba a destruir Gaza, los gritos de deshumanización del Otro no dejaban lugar para expresar sufrimiento por las victimas de ambos lados.
Un grupo de jóvenes amigos y activistas palestinos e israelíes se sentían solos y tenían miedo. El silencio impuesto les asfixiaba. El fanatismo imperante y el sentimiento de venganza que atravesaba el país les desgarraba.
Decidieron pasar una temporada en algún lugar de Andalucía para poder asimilar juntos su dolor lejos de esa tierra asolada por el odio. Este grupo de amigos forma parte de un grupo binacional más numeroso que aspira a crear las condiciones para conseguir una verdadera sociedad compartida,una paz radical.
